For the first time in months, Haru returns home and opens up to her mother, Ryoko, about everything she has been through. As Haru tearfully admits how much Rio means to her, Ryoko offers comforting words that help her face her feelings. Meanwhile, back at the share house, Rio begins to realize just how important Haru has become in his life. When tragedy strikes and Asuki passes away, Haru rushes to Rio’s side, bringing them both to a turning point they can no longer ignore.

Now that their feelings for each other are finally out in the open, Haru and Rio are forced to confront the reality that being together may not be so simple. Continuing life at the share house, Haru sleeps beside Rio but refrains from crossing the line they have drawn between them. Then, after being approached by a modeling scout, Haru decides to pursue a new future for herself. As she takes her first steps toward a different life, she tells Rio that she plans to leave the share house after graduation, setting the stage for a difficult farewell.
